What do MODELS do?
x

CAMERON RUSSELL: I try to consume as few materials as I can: rags instead of paper towels, buying used clothing, not driving when subway/walking/biking is an option, turning off lights, etc. Of course, I fly everywhere for my job so I'm not doing a very good job on that front.

RACHEL ALEXANDER: The main thing I can say is that I don’t own a car. I take the subway and walk around NY. I also live in a small apartment. In the city that doesn't take up much space. I eat mostly vegetarian and raw foods. There's a lot in the East Village where I live.

DOROTHEA BARTH JÖRGENSEN: I try to be aware of the environment, I eat vegetarian food, and if it’s possible I buy organic ! And I also avoid buying takeaway food! Then I buy a lot of second hand clothes! Recycling!

It's funny how sometimes it's the littlest things that can make such a huge difference and it takes the trendiest people to bring attention to it to take it world wide. I always appreciate when models do this.

I've always been a fan of plus-size models! There's a great site with many images of Crystal and other plus-size models here:

http://www.judgmentofparis.com/

They're all gorgeous.

The site's forum also has thought-provoking discussions about body image and the media.
