PONY RYDER: Where are you from Kiki? You look multi ethnic… are you?
KIKI KANG:
I'm from China. Many people say that, but i'm totally Chinese.

PONY RYDER: How did you start modeling?

KIKI KANG: When I graduated from school... My mother agency found me in the school , about 2 years ago. My mother agency told me about the Elite Model Contest, and I didn't think too much, just thought I should try it. I couldn't speak English before I entered modeling, just some basics.. “Hello” :P

PONY RYDER: One of the first agencies that started promoting you on the Internet was Elite Barcelona. Was Spain your first international experience?
KIKI KANG: I didn't stay in Spain too long, Paris was my first international experience.

PONY RYDER: You are also the face of the new TOPSHOP campaign. What did you think of the outfit you wore in the campaign, would you wear it in private?
KIKI KANG:
Yes, I like the outfit i wore, I will wear those clothes in private, not because I did the Topshop campaign, but because I’ve always liked their clothes.

PONY RYDER: Where do you usually shop? Is TOPSHOP also one of your destinations?
KIKI KANG: Soho is my favorite place, and Barney’s, Bloomingdales….. Topshop, sure – always :)
I love Topshop very much, I think they always have nice and fashionable clothes, and also a very affordable price.

PONY RYDER: What is the brand of your favorite jeans?
KIKI KANG:
I don't know, I always go to Bloomingdales to choose jeans, they have everything nice.

PONY RYDER: Speaking of jeans, you were great at Diesel Runway. Do the shows that you walk for influence your personal style?
KIKI KANG:
It's not my personal style in the shows ,but I like Diesel clothes, it's young and cool.

KIKI KANG: My first show was in Shanghai, I can't remember…

PONY RYDER: What do you do first when you get up?
KIKI KANG: I take a shower.

PONY RYDER: And how do you nurture your body?
KIKI KANG:

PONY RYDER: How do you stay in shape?
KIKI KANG:
Staying in shape---that 's very difficult for me, I love food, so sports is the best way I guess. At the moment I'm doing hot yoga, twice a week.

PONY RYDER: So you pay attention to what you eat?
KIKI KANG:
Yes ,I do.
PONY RYDER: What is your favorite dish?
KIKI KANG:
There are too many, everything is my favorite.

PONY RYDER: Where do you go then for a great meal in NY City?
KIKI KANG:
I always go to different restaurants to try different foods, there are a lot of great places.

KIKI KANG:


  • Shiseido: lotion and eyecream
  • CeraVe: cleanser and moisturizer (my doctor told me that it is good for sensitive skin)
  • Oil

KIKI KANG:
Every girl and woman has a different face, but the most important beauty tip is confidence - the best make up for everyone.

KIKI KANG:
My home town in Sichuan, so Hot Pot - you must to try it, it's so good! I live in Shanghai now, but I don't really know much about Shanghai, because since I moved to Shanghai, I wasn’t there all the time, so...
